Project Brief

The Waterway Construction Project of Sushen Waigang Line (Jiangsu Section) Waterway Improvement Project is a key water transportation channel connecting the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Huangpu River. In accordance with the Class-lll waterway standards, the project involves the regulation of a 29.441km long waterway.

The main construction works of the section include revetment works, water-related earthwork works and soft soil foundation treatment, etc.

It mainly includes the following key quantities: 770,000 m3 of water-related earthwork and 52,000 m3 of concrete for waterway revetments.

Project Overview

The Sushen Waigang Line serves as a vital transportation artery connecting two of China's most important waterways - the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Huangpu River. This strategic location makes the waterway a critical component of the regional transportation network in eastern China.

Upgraded to meet Class-III waterway standards, the improved waterway now accommodates larger vessels and supports increased cargo throughput, significantly enhancing regional logistics efficiency and economic connectivity.
